The Buzău lands have a lot to offer, among their attractions is the Buzău Valley, a fascinating region with special landscapes shrouded in legends and mysteries.

Springing from the peaks of Ciucaș and Tătarul Mare, the River Buzău has an interesting and special flow, covering a distance of approximately 325 km. After crossing the highest massifs of Siriu and Podul Calului forming the narrow gorges known as Cheile Buzăului, the Buzău river continues its route towards the Romanian Plain, near the town of Măgura it makes a sharp turn. Once in the plain area, it does not flow directly into the Danube, but into the Siret. Among the tributaries are Siriu, Nehoiu, Bâsca Mare, Bâsca Mica, Bâsca Chiojdului, Bisoca.
On the course of the Buzău there are two hydropower facilities, the Siriu dam and reservoir with the Nehoiașu hydroelectric plant and the Cândêști dam, with the Cândêști-Vernești-Simileasca hydropower facility.
