The Time of Man Museum, located in Mânzălești, is an ethnographic museum that reflects the deep connection between humans and nature. Opened in 2015, it explores universal symbols such as life, death, and rebirth, showcasing traditional rural life through unique exhibits. Visitors can discover centuries-old woven towels, handicrafts, and tools, guided by Cecilia Petrescu, nominated as a Living Human Treasure.

📜 History of the Location

The Time of Man Museum was inaugurated in 2015 as the first visitor point of the Ținutul Buzăului Geopark, in collaboration with the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant. Situated near the Grunjul de la Mânzălești, the museum captures the rich cultural traditions and the close bond between people and nature, preserving the rural lifestyle and its symbolic representations.

The museum is one of a kind in Buzău County, depicting the life of the Romanian village through symbolism and tradition. Each room represents a distinct universe:
Feminine space – Daily life, traditional textiles, and dowry objects.
Masculine space – Earth, fire, and tools of rural craftsmanship.

The Tree of Life – A central symbol, sculpted from salt, represents the link between earth and sky.
