Pruncea Waterfall, also known as Cascada Cașoca, is located in the Podul Calului Massif, on the course of the Cașoca River, about 5 km from Siriu, in the northeastern part of Buzau County. With a waterfall of 5-6 meters, this waterfall impresses by the wildness of the landscape and the associated legends, including the hiding place of the outlaw Gheorghilaș, a former pandur in the army of Tudor Vladimirescu. Pruncea Waterfall is linked to the outlaw Negoiță Gheorghilaș, former pandur of Tudor Vladimirescu. Legend has it that he used a grotto to the left of the waterfall as a hiding place for prey. The area was a place of refuge and inspiration for those seeking to hide from the persecution of the times. The locals of Gura Teghii celebrate Gheorghilaș annually on June 1, in honor of his courage and spirit of justice.

📍 How to get there
The waterfall is accessible from the DN10 (Buzău-Brașov). After passing Siriu, about 2 km before the Siriu Dam, turn right on a paved road. It follows the course of the river Cașoca and is passable by car, although it is advisable to check the road conditions in advance, especially after rain.
