📜 History of the location

The church was built in 1876 by Grigore C. Monteoru, the founder of the resort of Sărata Monteoru. It was designed by a German architect, combining neo-Byzantine and neo-Gothic styles. Over the years, it underwent several restorations, being affected by earthquakes in 1940 and 1977. Between 1979 and 1995, the church was closed for repairs and parishioners attended services in the Monteoru family chapel. In 2002, the church was re-dedicated after the interior was repainted.
