TravelBuzau is a non-governmental and non-profit organization and the offical representant of Buzau county at the Romanian National Federation of Tourism Development Associations (FAPT). The organisation has been founded in 2010 under the name of “Asociatia Monteoru Renaissance”. In 2014, the asociation was rebranded to “Asociatia TravelBuzau” – in accordance with the well-known name of the webportal www.travelbuzau.com, which, with more than 20.000 unique users per month, has become one of Romania´s most visited websites of a regional tourism destination.
The target of TravelBuzau is to promote sustainable tourism development in Buzau county and to preserve the historical heritage.

The founder of the associations have long traditional family ties into the region and a profound international experience in tourism development.
Juranda Kirschner, president of TravelBuzau, is descendant of the family Zainescu, who was mayor of Sarata Monteoru for more than 40 years and at the same time administrator of Grigore Monteoru´s mansion before world war II. Juranda was living in Poland, France and Germany for many years.
Together with his German husband Thorsten, who has been working as consultant and government advisor for more than 10 years all over the world, they decided to move to Buzau and to contribute to the promotion of this extraordinary beautiful and largely unknown county.
